The family math works. Houses run roughly $280K–$650K against Arlington Heights' $350K–$900K+ — same District 214 high schools, friendlier entry. Pockets like We-Go Park by Prospect High are the kind of streets where everyone's out walking on a nice evening.
The commute is elite. Metra UP-NW to downtown in under an hour, O'Hare in 15 minutes, and the market has stayed firm because of it — recent house medians around $558K, up double digits year over year.
Range for every stage. From Colony Country condos in the $200s to Country Club listings pushing $970K — you can enter, move up and downsize without ever leaving town. Plenty do exactly that.
The honest trade-offs
The school map is genuinely confusing — three elementary districts (D57, D26, D59) and three possible high schools, block by block. Rand Road and Route 83 carry real traffic. And Cook County taxes are Cook County taxes. None of these are dealbreakers; all of them are worth knowing before you offer.
